Favorite Garden Books for Kids!

We love spring and all things gardening this year.  Our kids have loved planting seeds and going out to water them each day!  We thought it would be fun to round up a list of books that inspire you to get outside and enjoy the garden.
The Curious Garden by Peter Brown | A young boy decides the world needs to be a little greener and takes on the task, one little plant at a time.

Plant the Tiny Seed by Christie Matheson |  This is a fun, interactive book for young kids.  They will love doing actions as if they really are planting a garden.

Green, Green: A Community Gardening Story by Marie and Baldev Lamba |  I love the community and working together to make the world a better place that this book teaches.  We all can play a part to do something small!

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett |  How can you not love this classic?!  My kids might still be a little too young for it, but I think I need to pick it up for a re-read.

Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner |  This book has beautiful pictures, a lovely storyline, and is educational.  That checks all the boxes for me!

The Gigantic Turnip by Aleksei Tolstoy | Every book list needs one that will get you laughing.  This classic story is fun for all ages.

In a Garden by Tim McCanna | If your child wants to know what is actually taking place inside the garden, this is a great book! The incredible illustrations are an added bonus.

Balloon Farm by Jerdine Nolen | This book was one of my favorite to check out from the school library as a kid.  It may be pushing the "garden" theme, but it's a must read in my opinion!
