January Book Craft | Snow
If you love snow and snowmen, then you’ll love this month's book craft! The author makes these books fun and whimsical. Head off to the library and get these books, and then have some fun playing in ”snow”.
Have you ever built a snowman and discovered the next day that his grin has gotten a little crooked, or his tree-branch arms have moved? And you've wondered . . . what do snowmen do at night? This book opens our eyes to the many amusing details about the secret life of snowmen and where they go at night.
Our young narrator, in this book, dreams of a non-melting snowman friend who joins him for ALL of the year's events. They ride a roller coaster together, dive into a swimming pool in the summer, watch the Fourth of July fireworks, and trick-or-treat on Halloween.
Book Craft Instructions:
We found this two-ingredient recipe from The Purposeful Nest and had to try it ourselves!
In a large bowl mix 2 1/2 cups of baking soda and 1/2 cup white conditioner. Use your hands or a spoon to combine the ingredients. Dump into a tupperware or sensory bin container and have fun!
The kids had so much fun adding their Paw Patrol and animal figures. They traced letters, scooped, played pretend. It was so fun to watch their creativity come to life. I ran out of conditioner, so for one bin I just used baking soda and they still had fun!
*You can pick up cheap conditioner at the Dollar Store.
*Be sure to supervise younger children to make sure they don’t try to eat it.
*Wash their hands afterwards so they don’t rub the residue in their eyes.
*Do this activity on a day when you already need to clean the floor! :)
*Most of all…….HAVE FUN!
Thank you to The Purposeful Nest for helping us bring snow indoors this winter.
