Morning Routine Cards
A few weeks ago I was so inspired by Ralphie from Simply on Purpose with her after school routine cards. My kids aren't in school yet, so I thought about the routines that we do have that were not functioning at top notch. Hello mornings!!! (I wish I got paid to repeat the phrase, "Come get dressed!")
Insert: Routine Cards! I knew that if we could implement morning routine cards it would be a total game changer for us. And it has! We've been doing this for a few weeks now and it's amazing to see the progress that they've made. The kids are excited and proud of themselves as they complete these tasks on their own. It allows them to be independent, make their own choices, and become more self-driven. Remember - it is so important to teach the routines to your child first and how to do them successfully. Talk about how the routine cards work and practice doing them with your kids until they understand how to complete each task. Now most mornings I'm saying, "Are your cards done?" or "We'll go to the park when your cards are finished!"
